Teach Your Monster to Read

Recently in the lab, students have been playing the game Teach Your Monster to Read. This main purpose of the game is to teach letter sounds and recognition and while this may be review for most 1st graders, it’s a good review in a fun format. Students review letters and their sounds by teaching a monster (that they can customize) to read so that he can repair his crashed rocket ship. The game is also for great for working on mouse control. Once all of the students have completed the game, each 1st grader will be writing a short story about their monster.
